Today was my first full day planning the Digital Leader CPD Programme. This regional initiative is supported by Vital, SE region. In planning this regional group, I am mindful that the Digital Leader concept is potentially scalable and that what we design should be open and available to share with colleagues Nationally and Internationally.
In laying down the foundations for the Digital Leader concept, I am keen to met our Vital outcomes successfully, punctually and efficiently.
An online Moodle CPD course in how to create a Digital Leaders group in schools (to be created in a Vital space and stored in Vital Library under a Creative Commons License)
In just two days, 6 enthusiastic, but geographically disparate teachers are expected to plan, create and document ‘how to create a Digital Leaders group in schools.’ This is by no means a simple task, as a group we will need to get past the forming, storming, norming – phases pretty expediently and onto to the performing phases as soon as possible. To accelerated and document our thoughts and collaborations (beyond Twitter and email) I have installed DigitalLeaders Mediawiki. The Mediawiki will primarily be used for planning and documentation (we don’t need/want excessive emailing), so if you have stumbledupon our blog and you are curious, then you are more than welcome to contribute, collaborate or review the programme there.
We also have a Digital Leader Moodle for drafting the ‘How to set up a Digital Leader Programme at your school,’ course for Vital and the blog for colleagues to post their viewpoints and experiences this collaborative CPD experience. Later, it is anticipated that each school will have access to the Digital Leader Moodle, a platform that can facilitate inter-school Digital Leaders projects, forums, competitions and activities. Finally, an individual school Digital Leader WordPress blog upon which Digital Leaders can showcase their digital talents and express their digital viewpoints, moderated by their school teacher.
These are the green shoots of a regional Digital Leader programme, but due to time commitments is must develop fairly rapidly. Now the group must outline and agree upon underpinning values that define a Digital Leader.
So, here, pretend – pretend that this wiki is a seed…..
Its a rock
