With the General Election taking place 10 weeks after, the 2015 DL Annual Lecture in Parliament was titled “Digital Democracy”. Hosted by Chloe Smith MP, our lecturer was Helen Milner, CEO of the Tinder Foundation and Commissioner on the Digital Democracy Commission.
After the lecture the Speaker of the House Commons, John Bercow MP, spoke about the Digital Democracy Commission’s ‘Open Up’ report. This was followed by a debate with the audience and panel of Digital Democracy experts including Meg Hillier MP, who is a member of the Digital Democracy Commission, and Jimmy Leach, former No 10 and FCO digital adviser, chaired by Chloe Smith MP.
